Connecticut Native Trees, Field-Grown to Maturity
Browse our selection of native species grown on-site at our East Windsor preserve. Every tree available for personal selection and same-day relocation.
Choose Your Scale of Impact
Our trees are available in three size classes, each delivering a different level of instant landscape transformation.
Establishing
4–6" caliper. Excellent starter specimens for homeowners building a future canopy. Already far beyond nursery sapling size.
Specimen
6–10" caliper. The sweet spot — dramatic visual impact with established canopy. Provides immediate shade and privacy.
Heritage
10–12"+ caliper. Statement-level specimens with commanding presence. The kind of tree that defines a property for generations.
Native Species Available
Every tree we grow is native to the Northeast and proven in Connecticut's climate. Visit the preserve to select your exact specimens.
🍂 Red Oak
The quintessential New England shade tree. Red Oaks establish quickly, developing broad, rounded crowns with brilliant scarlet fall foliage. One of the fastest-growing oak species, making them ideal for homeowners who want both immediate presence and long-term value.
🌿 White Oak
The long-lived anchor tree — a White Oak can live 400+ years. Massive spreading canopy with exceptional storm resistance and unmatched wildlife value. The acorns feed over 180 species. This is the tree that defines a property for generations.
🍁 Sugar Maple
New England's signature tree. The Sugar Maple delivers superior shade with its dense, layered canopy and transforms any landscape with iconic orange-red fall foliage. A classic choice for residential streets, front yards, and parks.
🌷 Tulip Poplar
The fastest-growing native hardwood in our catalog. Tulip Poplars shoot skyward with a tall, straight form and produce unique tulip-shaped flowers in spring. An excellent choice when quick canopy establishment is the priority.
🌊 American Sycamore
A bold statement tree with dramatic white bark and enormous leaves. American Sycamores thrive near water and provide some of the most massive canopy coverage of any native species. Unforgettable presence in any landscape.

Why Field-Grown Matters
The difference between a field-grown tree and a container-grown tree isn't just size — it's structural integrity at every level.
Root Architecture
Field-grown trees develop root systems 3–5x larger than containerized equivalents. These expansive roots mean faster establishment and superior long-term stability on your property.
Structural Strength
Years of exposure to real wind, ice, and weather builds natural taper and branch architecture that container-grown trees simply cannot develop. Our trees are storm-proven.
Climate Adapted
Every tree has already survived Connecticut's full seasonal cycle — summer heat, fall storms, winter ice, spring flooding. They're acclimated and ready to perform from day one.
"There's nothing quite like walking a client through the preserve and watching them find their tree. They see the canopy, feel the shade, and know exactly what's going to be in their yard tomorrow."— Tim Moore, Co-Founder
